A Lupane man who killed and buried his girlfriend for cheating on him has been sentenced to 22 years for culpable homicide.
Qinisela Sibanda, 31, was convicted of murder with constructive intent in connection with the death of Judith Mlauzi, 33, on March 13 last year.
It is alleged that Sibanda cracked her skull with an unknown weapon before stripping her and burying her.
Sibanda went on to hide Mlauzi's purse, clothes and the shovel he used to dig the grave in a bid to conceal his crime.
The matter came to light when dogs dug up Mlauzi's decomposing body, leading to a police being made which in turn resulted to the arrest of Sibanda.
In his defence, Sibanda claimed that it wasn't his intention to kill her, but failed to control himself when Mlauzi slapped him when he attempted to discipline her for cheating.
Sibanda stated that he hit his girlfriend with his fist thrice before she fell down dead.
According to the postmortem, the cause of death was due to cervical and head trauma.
